Peso Funny
Detailed information
Detailed review
Peso Funny was previously known as an online lending option in the Philippines. However, the service’s current operating status has changed significantly, and this is something users need to know before considering a loan.
How does Peso Funny provide loans?
Peso Funny is an online lending service in the Philippines where users complete their loan application through the app instead of borrowing cash directly. After creating an account, borrowers provide the required information and upload the requested documents so their application can undergo assessment.
The actual loan amount is determined after the application is reviewed, with factors such as credit history, income, and other relevant information potentially being used for assessment. Therefore, the amount requested by the user is not necessarily the amount approved; the loan may be approved, rejected, or even have its limit adjusted depending on the assessment results. Once the application is approved, the funds will be transferred to the bank account or e-wallet registered by the user.
Peso Funny interest and fees
The cost of borrowing consists of several charges rather than interest alone. The stated interest rate is 0.05%–0.1% per day, while the processing fee can be up to 2% of the loan amount and the service fee is up to ₱500 per loan.
For example, for a ₱10.000 loan over 180 days at an interest rate of 0.1% per day, the interest is calculated at ₱1.800, making the total principal and interest ₱11.800. This figure does not include other fees that may apply to the actual loan, so the total amount payable should be checked directly in the loan agreement.
Before accepting the application, check the final amount stated in the agreement to know exactly what charges are included in your loan and how much you have to pay in total.
Late payment fee
The late payment fee is separate from the regular borrowing costs, at ₱200 per day and up to ₱3.000. This fee only applies when the borrower makes a late payment, so it should not be combined with the interest rate when assessing the cost of a loan that is paid on time.
However, this cost is only part of the risk because the loan may also become overdue, and information about late payments may be reported to credit institutions.
Such reporting may affect your credit score as well as your ability to access loans in the future. During collection, the lender may contact the borrower by phone, SMS, email, or through notifications in the app; after attempting to contact the borrower, they may contact the emergency contact.
Collection may also be carried out through a third-party provider or through legal measures in accordance with applicable regulations. Therefore, late payment not only increases the amount you have to pay but may also have longer-term effects on your credit history and ability to borrow in the future.
Loan application requirements
To apply, users need to be Filipino citizens or legal residents of the Philippines and be between 18–65 years old. The application also requires a government-issued ID, an active phone number registered under the applicant’s name, and a bank account or e-wallet under the applicant’s name for receiving the funds.
Applicants must also have the legal capacity to enter into a contract and provide accurate and complete information. However, meeting these requirements only means that you are eligible to submit an application; whether the loan is approved still depends on the subsequent assessment process.
How Peso Funny Assesses Loan Applications for Loans
After receiving an application, Peso Funny may review various information related to the applicant’s ability to borrow, including credit history, income, employment, bank statements, and transaction history. These factors are used to assess the application rather than relying only on the applicant’s age or whether they have the required documents.
The final result may be an approval, rejection, or adjustment to the loan amount. Therefore, the amount you initially request should not be considered the amount you are guaranteed to receive, even if the application meets the basic eligibility requirements.
How to apply for Peso Funny and where will the money be sent?
The process starts by downloading Peso Funny from Google Play, then creating an account and providing the required information. Once the application details are completed, users upload the necessary documents so the system can place the loan application under assessment.
If approved, the funds will be transferred to the registered bank account or e-wallet. The stated transfer time is within 24 hours on a business day, but the actual time the money appears may still depend on the payment processor or financial institution.
Therefore, “approved” and “funds received” are two different points in time. A loan may already have been approved, but the funds may still need additional time to complete the transfer.
Paying off a Peso Funny loan early or partially
Peso Funny allows borrowers to pay their loan early without a penalty and also accepts partial payments. However, these two payment methods have different meanings and should not be understood as interchangeable.
Making a partial payment does not extend the loan term. If a late payment fee has already been incurred, the fee will not automatically be removed simply because the borrower makes a partial payment on the remaining balance.
The loan may be paid automatically or manually through authorized channels, and payments may also be made directly at partner locations. When choosing a payment method, check that it is an accepted channel to avoid problems with payment recording.
Peso Funny collects customer data
The scope of data that needs to be provided is quite broad. The first group includes identification information such as personal details, identification documents, phone number, email, address, as well as facial photos and photos of documents for verification purposes.
It also includes information about employment, income, and financial circumstances. Peso Funny may also collect device data, IP address, operating system, and activity logs; the policy also mentions GPS, camera, SMS, and app lists.
This data is used for purposes such as identity verification, credit assessment, account management, risk control, and legal compliance. Some data may be shared with the relevant parties mentioned in the policy, so users should carefully review the scope of data processing before granting permissions.
Users also have rights related to their personal data, including the right to access, correct, delete, withdraw consent, restrict, or object to processing in applicable circumstances.
Peso Funny has had its registration license revoked by the SEC.
Peso Funny is operated by TANAY INDIANS LENDING AND CREDIT CORP, with SEC Registration No. CS201716221 and Certificate of Authority No. 2294. However, the SEC has revoked the company’s license, while Peso Funny is no longer active on Google Play; on the App Store, only the homepage remains.
Therefore, borrowers should not rely on old legal information to assume that Peso Funny is still authorized to provide loans. If you encounter websites or installation files claiming to be Pesofunny, exercise caution and do not provide identification documents, banking information, or verification codes until you have clearly identified the entity currently providing the service.
